Sādhana means "a dedicated spiritual practice", a journey that encompasses all the dimensions of yoga. This workshop is my way of honouring our teachers and creating a space that reflects the depth and authenticity of yoga as it was taught to me in India.
By integrating asana, pranayama, and yogic philosophy, we will cultivate a practice that goes beyond technique—one that is rooted in tradition, yet personal in experience.
YOGA SUTRA CHANTING • ASANA • PRANAYAMA
This Sacred Sādhana workshop is structured in a way that reflects the Ashtanga Yoga system (Eightfold Path) guiding us through different layers of practice:
We begin with Yoga Sūtra Chanting — the ethical and personal observances of yoga. Through chanting the first sūtras of Patañjali’s Samādhi Pāda, we explore the nature of the mind, plant the seeds of self-inquiry, and set the foundation for doing the inner work.
Next, we move into Asana Practice, the physical gateway to yoga. With a mindful and intentional sequence, we strengthen and open our bodies, challenge our awareness, and cultivate both discipline (tapas) and devotion (ishvarapranidhana). Variations will be provided to accommodate all levels, making the practice both accessible and transformative.
Finally, we conclude with Pranayama, transitioning into deeper stillness. Through a guided breathwork sequence, we refine our awareness and connect with our field of consciousness, using the breath to quiet the mind and access our inner source of energy.
While many practitioners first encounter yoga through the physical aspect—seeking strength, flexibility, or new skills—the beauty of this holistic practice is that it extends beyond what is seen. The effects penetrate deeper: a clearer mind, balanced energy, and an unshakable sense of being centered.
Whether you come for movement, stillness, or self-exploration, this journey invites you to experience yoga as a whole—rooted in tradition, yet personal to your own path.
